About Peels On Wheels Pizza Garage
The Pizza Garage is a takeout pizzeria focusing on offering a variety of styles of pizza. Owner Luis Perez spent his early childhood eating pizza from slice shops in New York City and after a trip to Italy, he wanted to create a pizza that offered the best of his own experiences. The Pizza Garage hopes to offer others a similar nostalgic pizza experience!
Located at 1157 Culver Rd, Rochester, NY 14609, Peels On Wheels Pizza Garage operates as a pizza restaurant serving Rochester in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as takeout restaurant, pizza takeout, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
The business lists hours on 1 day of the week. Typical hours are 11 amβ8 pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rochester is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This time I had a New York style crust with house made tomato sauce from heirloom tomatoes, house made mozzarella, house made sausage, fresh mushrooms, fresh basil leaves, and freshly grated parmigiano reggiano. It was the best pizza I've ever had, and I grew up 10 mi from New York City and spent 6 months in Italy. Most if not all ingredients were organic. High quality ingredients are not cheap. (Sure, you can get a much less expensive pizza with canned tomato sauce, canned mushrooms, industrial plastic mozzarella, fake Parmesan cheese, etc. Your choice.) The staff is incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to make sure your pizza is top quality.

I hate pizza: soggy red cheese bread. I LOVE THAT NY ROSA SLICE OMG SHUT UP. Every bite starts with a CRUNCH and ends with a MMMMM. I also had the tiramisu. Came in a cup out of the fridge and IT WAS HEAVEN AND I CANβT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. Thick layers over coffee liqueur soaked biscoffβ¦ do i love pizza now? NO. i β€οΈ peels on wheels food.

I had lunch here today. Donβt get me wrong the food was good, but I feel like it was not worth what I paid. I had a slice of the NYC cheese and pepperoni and also their Korean Fried Chicken. I paid $6.50 for the pepperoni and $7.50 for the Korean Friend Chicken. It was good but I canβt really justify paying that much for two slices of pizza. Was everything organic? Why was it that much? I know this place is highly rated and I did enjoy the food, but I feel like there are too many good pizza places for what they charge. They were nice though. I would give 5 stars for the service and 4.5 for the food and 2 stars for the price, so 4 stars overall.

100/10! Best Detroit style pizza we have ever had!! The arancini was crispy, light and absolutely delicious. The regular 18 inch pepperoni was crispy and full of flavor. Definitely will be coming back again and again!

I grew up in a town not too far from NYC and the family pizza shops were everywhere. Top of the line phenomenal local pizza. I don't think I've ever been outside my hometown and hit that flawless mark before this past weekend. Peels On Wheels blew me away. I was told to check this place out a while ago and it's almost disgraceful I took this long to go check it out. On top of that, we were greeted with a joyful energy from the staff delighted to talk about what a first time visitor should try on the menu. I will be back very soon!
